The club is run by an enthusiastic team and please come and introduce yourself on one of the walks or if you have questions please contact one of the following. You can click on the name to send an email.

Chair and Area Committee Representative

It's my job to keep your committee in order and to make sure our meetings run to time. With such an overwhelmingly enthusiastic bunch this year, that's not always an easy task. I also represent us in the broader Ramblers context on the area committee, where I bring the average age down by a few years!

I'm also the group's resident 'twitcher' and can be usually found skulking around a local reservoir when not out walking. I hope to meet you all on a walk somewhere this year. Please come up and say hi if you see me.

Sean Moore

Sean Moore

Group Secretary

As Group Secretary, I keep everyone on the Committee organised, arranging the agendas and papers for our Committee meetings and taking the minutes. We meet about four or five times a year, discussing important matters like the walk programme, social events and membership numbers. I don't think a lot of our members know how much work goes on behind the scenes to make us a successful group.

We have an AGM as well each autumn - a fair bit of planning is needed for that to make sure that it runs smoothly . We always try to hold our meetings somewhere fairly quiet, but with good food and drink available! I also make sure that the Committee members are kept up to date with communications from the Ramblers Head Office.

You'll spot me on some walks and I organise occasional socials - Dancing Queen anyone?

Lucia Contrino

Socials Coordinator

As the group socials coordinator I am happy for you to ask for advice and help, if required, about organising social events for us. If you are thinking about organising a social event for the group in the future please get in touch so we can plan it into the diary. Oh and I also organise an event or two myself!

Trevor Gent

Membership Secretary / Enquiries

Info on CWW, sign you up for Sean's weekly e-mail about our Walks & Socials, how to join?  I'm the one. (Sorry, no 'get-fit' tips - just come on the walk).

Mary Wayne

Media Coordinator and Webmaster

If you have any thoughts on the website, publicising the group, or adding a link on our links page then speak to me on one of the walks or send me an email.

If you have any good photos from the walks then please send them to photos@chilternsww.co.uk

Lawrence Jones

Media Coordinator and Webmaster

I'm joint media coordinator / webmaster along with Lawrence above.  Lawrence does the real work on the website and I'm his co-coordinator since I have the same name, sort of.  I'm an avid participant in the group's social programme and organize fantastic pub nights from time to time -- you should come along on one of them.  I'm also slightly famous in the group for going on long midnight bicycle rides.

Larry Bennett

Walks Coordinator (joint role)

I'm Chris, and together with Karen, I co-ordinate the walks programme. I joined CWW over a year ago, and I haven't looked back! If I want to go walking, I no longer have to scrape around to find friends to go with....or plan ages in advance, I just turn up at one of the many walks on the programme.

Why don't you? In fact I thought the walks programme was so great, I nearly bought the company (well not quite..)

Christine Parsons

Chris Parsons

Walks Coordinator (joint role) and Footpath Secretary

As part of our responsibilities as a Ramblers group we volunteer to check the footpath/signage conditions in one of the areas in which we walk. We cover Great Missenden and I am responsible for reporting any poor paths, hedges, stiles, signs etc in that area. If you are interested in helping please contact me for further information.

Karen Ruthven

Training & Technical

For those who want to add to their walking skills and knowledge, apart from being able to put one foot in front of another. During the year I will be organising, based on requests from your good selves, various training sessions. See the Training & Technical page of this web-site for details.

For those with any Technical Questions or if you need some information or unbiased advice, however weird and wonderful, drop me an email. So if you want to know: why you get blisters, if Gore-Tex is better than Nikwax, where to buy stuff etc etc.

Bob Smith
Treasurer

Dealing with any expenditure concerned with the promotion of walking as per the aims of Ramblers charitable status.

Alun Sainsbury
Area Committee Representative

Basically, my role is to attend the area committee meetings etc. and keep the group in touch with happenings in our area and vice versa.

Mick Hill

Members' Representative

Whilst the rest of the committee is focusing on all the necessary serious stuff, I spend my time thinking up and working on organising some of the fun stuff for the group.  You will see me walking most weeks and at many of the social events so please talk to me if you have any ideas for some walking or social activities (the crazier the better) and I'll put them to the committee for consideration and if we go with them then I'll help you make it happen.  I'm also available to help with reccing walks as it is always more fun with someone else.

Alan Shiell

Members' Representative

As a members' representative, I offer other committee members support and advice or opinions where needed.  I also do footpath checking for the Chiltern Society, and walks I lead are often spinoffs from this.
