| Introduction
Chilterns Weekend Walkers is a walking group affiliated to the Ramblers Association and was founded in 2006 by a number of people moving out of the age group traditionally served by the Chilterns 20s & 30s Group. We have grown rapidly in that time and now boast 150 members from a wide variety of backgrounds and nationalities. Whilst our main age group tends to be walkers in their 40s
or 50s, we welcome walkers of whatever age, who are looking for a friendly and welcoming group. We're always pleased to see new walkers so do come along and try us out. Just introduce yourself to the walk leader on
the day.
Our Walks
The group has an active programme of walks throughout the year, and as our name suggests, these are mostly on a Saturday or Sunday. However, in the summer we also offer a midweek programme too. Our walks are usually
between 5 and 12 miles and are mostly located in the picturesque Chiltern Hills
stretching from the River Thames in the West right across to Hertfordshire.
We guarantee you great scenery with the odd steep hill thrown in too.
Walks are led by volunteer members of the group, and on average you can expect around 20 people to come along, but numbers do vary. Most walks are listed on the Ramblers Association website and additional details are sent out on a weekly basis to our mailing list.
Social Events
When we’re not walking, we like to relax and have fun. Alongside our walks we have an active social programme with members hosting pub nights, restaurant meals, concert & theatre trips, and our popular annual
Christmas Party.
Weekends Away
We like to explore further afield, and organise a number of weekend trips for Group members throughout the year. Whether you enjoy the coast or the mountains or perhaps a trip overseas, there’s something for everyone
Membership
Regular Walkers with the group are expected to become members of the Ramblers Association.
