Walks Programme

We have a very active programme with one or two walks on offer on both Saturdays and Sundays with midweek walks on summer evenings. Walks are held throughout the Chilterns region and occasionally slightly further afield. All walks are led by volunteers who are members of the group.

Saturdays

Sundays

Weekday Evenings

These walks are typically, but not exclusively, afternoon walks of around 4 - 7 miles. These walks are a mixture of full day and half day walks. Our full day walks are 8 - 12 miles in length with a pub or picnic stop. The shorter walks usually around 4 - 6 miles. These are typically 3 - 5 miles and start after work and usually end at a pub for drinks and possibly something to eat.

 Information for first time walkers

  • Make sure that you are fit enough. If you are not sure, start with a shorterGet Walking Keep Walking logo walk and see how it goes. This is better than being exhausted after a long walk. Pace can vary from walk to walk, but is typically 2-3 miles per hour. If you are concerned after fitness then click on the "Get Walking Keep Walking" logo for more information.

  • Wear walking boots, which need to be waterproof if it's been raining recently and be prepared for the weather to change.

  • Bring enough to drink on the walk and a snack if you might feel peckish. Many walkers take a flask of tea or coffee on cold days.

Our Walks Programme is regularly updated on the Ramblers Association Website.
