From the Whiteleaf car park we head firstly downhill following the Ridgeway to Pulpit Hill passing Theresa's countryside retreat. We skirt Little Hampden and pick up the Chiltern Way to Hampden House. On to Lacey Green where we stop for our picnic lunch at Callows Hill for hopefully some glorious views over Bledlow Ridge and Lodge Hill. Our return trip takes us through Loosley Row, Wardrobes and Prytle Spring to meet up with the Ridgeway close to Princes Risborough and I'm afraid a steep climb back up to Whiteleaf Hill. A few inclines, woodland and wide open fields.
No dogs please.
We'll head off through Kit's Wood towards Bradenham where we'll stop for lunch. Then we'll go as far as Saunderton before heading back and finishing at the Mausoleum. There are a couple of steep bits, but we'll be taking them slowly!
Starting from the Whip Inn, we head to Speen at a moderate pace. From there we head to Piggotts Hill with some great views across the valley. Then back to Speen via Upper North Dean, and finally looping through the woods back to Lacey Green in time for a 4:30 pm finish and a well earned drink at the Whip. We will have a couple of short breaks on the way, but no lunch break is planned - please make sure you have eaten some lunch before the start.
Classic Chiltern hills walk at a brisk pace. Walking through delightful woodland we have at least five stiff inclines which should get the circulation going nicely. From Cadmore End we walk over to Ibstone, pass through Turville, Idlecombe and Churchfield Woods to Turville. Only one way back of course, Cobstone (windmill) Hill and Hanger Wood.
No dogs please.
